THE ORANGE RIVER:
Starting high in the Drakensberg Mountains, the Senqu-Orange River makes it's way over 2400km through Lesotho & then South Africa before emptying into the Atlantic Ocean on the South African / Namibian border. This is the lifeline of many, but at danger as a result of mankinds actions. |
THE RIVERBOARD:
Essentially a bodyboard for whitewater, this production model was designed & developed in South Africa by leading kayak company Fluid Kayaks together with Charl van Rensburg. Ray was intrigued by the sport until he tried it in 2012 & instantly fell in love! The plastic board allows for expeditions unlike older foam boards. |

Having left the IT game in 2006, Ray has pushed the limits of sanity as he has walked & pedalled his way around South Africa... testing gear, raising awareness and sharing stories. He instantly fell in love with riverboard when he tried it in 2012 and has been determined to make a first descent by riverboard ever since! |
