| H.P.X.7. |
While mountaineers aspire to climb the 'Seven Summits' or the 8000'ers, and rowers aspire to cross the Atlantic, Indian and Pacific Oceans, my aim is to...
Traverse the seven continents
from one extremity to the other...
using only human-power
While five of the continents will be crossed off during the VELO360 expedition, Australia and Asia will remain... meaning I will need to head back out onto the trail and cover many more thousands of kilometres.
The order in which I will traverse the continents is:
1. Africa
2. Europe
3. North America
4. South America
5. Antarctica
6. Australia
7. Asia
WHAT ARE THE EXTREMITIES?
The highest and lowest points are a given on each of the continents, while the southernmost & northernmost [or easternmost and westernmost] provide the other two. Africa, for example, would be:
- Southernmost: Cape Agulas
- Highest: Mt Kilimanjaro
- Lowest: Lake Assal
- Northernmost: Ras ben Sakka
LOGISTICS & CO-ORDINATION:
While the physical and mental challenge themselves are immense, vast distances, remote areas and diverse conditions mean a need for top notch logistics and project management. Adventures Global will play an instrumental role in this endeavour, managing my bid for the 'Seven Summits'. |
